"Light Mandala & Sacred Fire Offering" for the 150th Birthday Anniversary & 75th Independence of India

It was a collective expression of gratitude to Sri Aurobindo & Mother India, a sharing of aspirations to embody the Spirit of Auroville.
True to Sri Aurobindo’s wishes of his birthday being a day of introspection more than outward celebration, the evening comprised of residents of Auroville coming together in community for meditative live music, offerings of flowers, light food, the gentle singing of Vande Mataram, and the reading of some of Sri Aurobindo’s writings around a sacred fire and an oil-lamp mandala of Sri Aurobindo’s symbol, holding the diversity of our prayers in harmonious unity.

ஆகஸ்ட் 15ம்தேதியன்று, ஶ்ரீ அரவிந்தர்ரின்150வது பிறந்தநாள் மற்றும் 75வது சுதந்திரதினத்தை முன்னிட்டு ஆரோவில்வாசிகள் தீப மண்டலதையும் புனித அக்னி சமர்ப்பணத்தையும் பார்வையாளர்கள் மையத்திற்கு அருகிலுள்ள இனுக்சுக் என்ற அடையாள சின்னம் உள்ள இடத்தில் நடத்தினர்.
இது ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தர் மற்றும் அன்னை இந்தியாவுக்கு நன்றி தெரிவிக்கும், ஆரோவில்லின் உள் ஆர்வத்தை உருவகப்படுத்தி அமைந்த நிகழ்ச்சியாக அமைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.
தனது பிறந்தநாள் வெளிப்புறக் கொண்டாட்டத்தை விட சுயபரிசோதனை செய்யும் நாளாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தரின் விருப்பத்திற்கு இணங்க, மாலையில் தியான இசை, மலர்கள் சமர்ப்பித்தல், வந்தே மாதர கீதத்தை இனிய இசையுடன் பாடுதல், கூடியிருந்தோருக்கு எளிய உணவு அளித்தல் என்ற நிகழ்ச்சிகளை நடத்த ஆரோவில் வாசிகள் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்தனர்.
புனித அக்னியையும் அகல் விளக்குகளால் அமைந்த
ஸ்ரீ அரவிந்தரின் சின்னத்தைச் சுற்றியும், அம்மகானின் சில வாக்குகளை வாசித்தல், பன்முகத் தன்மை கொண்ட பிரார்த்தனைகளை இணக்ததுடன் சமர்ப்பித்தல் என்பவையே இந்நிகழ்ச்சியின் குறிக்கோள் ஆகும்.
