On Auroville's current situation

An interview with Michel Danino, July 2026

Michel Danino came to India in 1977 and spent five years in Auroville. A scholar of ancient India, author and educationist, he taught courses on Indian civilization at several institutions such as IITs and an IIM. As a member of the last International Advisory Council of the Auroville Foundation, he was interviewed when he visited the exhibition “Auroville, an experiment under threat” held in Puducherry on 12th July 2026. His testimony offers a candid view of the last Governing Board’s failure to understand Auroville.
